How to Choose the Right Sunscreen for Your Skin Type
Why Sunscreen is the Ultimate Anti-Aging Secret
UV radiation from the sun is responsible for 80% of visible skin aging, including wrinkles, pigmentation, and loss of elasticity. If you aren't wearing sunscreen, the rest of your skincare routine is virtually useless.
Physical vs Chemical Sunscreens
- Physical (Mineral) Sunscreens: Contain Zinc Oxide or Titanium Dioxide. They sit on top of the skin and reflect UV rays. Best for sensitive skin.
- Chemical Sunscreens: Absorb UV rays and convert them to heat. Often lighter in texture and leave no white cast.
Choosing for Your Skin Type
If you have oily or acne-prone skin, look for labels that say non-comedogenic and opt for gel-based or matte-finish sunscreens. For dry skin, cream-based sunscreens with added ceramides work best.
